National Polkafest

Ironworld Discovery Center, Chisholm
This four-day event is non-stop polka excitement including the annual Welcoming Ceremony, continuous performances by the polka industry’s top bands, the Ironworld Polka Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, dance contest competitions, and Polka Mass.

This exciting festival features everything from the dynamic Slovenian twirl-and-glide to the energizing Polish hop.  Thousands of polka enthusiasts gather for this event to embrace and celebrate the Mid-western tradition of polka music and dance.  Over 5,000 people attend annually.

Land of the Loon Arts & Crafts Festival

Virginia
This two-day festival kicks off the third full weekend in June and features a parade, street dance, and unique handcrafted items for sale in the beautiful Olcott Park.  Crowds sample delicious ethnic foods, listen to music, enjoy ongoing costumed entertainment and browse among the over 200 arts and craft booths.  More than 35,000 people attend this festival celebrating the culture and customs of the diverse people who settled in the area.

Mines & Pines Jubilee

Hibbing
This nine-day long community celebration provides non-stop entertainment with an art festival street, dance, parade, mile race, flea market, and sidewalk days.  Fireworks, beach parties and mini-plane aerial demonstrations also take place during this exciting event.  The Mines and Pines Flea Market featuring handcrafted items, original art festival and ethnic foods as a main draw for this celebration.  About 35,000 guests attend this annual event.  This is no admission to this annual event.

Hoyt Lakes Water Carnival

Hoyt Lakes
A three-carnival featuring 5k road race, parade, pancake feed, outdoor dance, turtle races, open air dances, in-line skating race, water ski shows and fireworks.  Tennis, volleyball, golf and softball tournaments are also a part of the event.  The Hoyt Lakes Water Carnival is an ongoing event attracting approximately 7,500 people of all ages.  Highlight of the event is the water-ski shows on Colby Lake.
