Hoyt Lakes

The Place for All Seasons

Bordered by two beautiful lakes, Hoyt Lakes has direct access from Lake Superior’s North Shore via the Superior National Forest Scenic Byway. Hoyt Lakes is proud of its recreation facilities, which include a challenging nine-hole golf course, paved hiking and biking trails, hockey arena, regulation tennis courts, Colby Lake Beach and more.

Summer is the season for camping at Fisherman’s Point Campground, located on a charming wooded peninsula on Whitewater Lake, and host to the June Whitewater Walleye Classic. Select sites are available for winter camping. Winter activities include ice fishing, snowshoeing and snowmobiling the area’s extensive trail network. This winter, try the local Colby Lake Cross-Country Ski Loop and the nearby Superior National Forest Bird Lake Trail.

Water Carnival and the Vintage Car Show are two events held in July which draw thousands of visitors. You’ll also want to check out the Colby Ridge Addition, our new common interest housing project on Colby Lake.
