Dylan Days (May 24th – 27th, 2006)

Dylan Days 2006 – Hibbing, Minn.

Hibbing honors its hometown poet musician Bob Dylan with Dylan Days, an annual Iron Range event celebrating music, literature and the visual arts. The 2006 Dylan Days festivities run from Dylan’s 65th birthday on May 24 through Saturday, May 27.

This year will feature Dylan Days traditions like the Bob’s Birthday Bash songwriter contest, a creative writing contest and literary reading and a display of contestants’ work in the visual art contest. Also, take a trip on the special bus excursion through “Dylan’s Hibbing” featuring entertaining guided tours at sites frequented by a younger Bobby Zimmerman.

New events this year include a youth talent competition on the stage of the Hibbing High School auditorium, where Bobby Zimmerman and his band first caused controversy back in 1958. Live music and other special events will make this Dylan Days an exciting experience for even the most casual of Dylan fans.
