Pfeiffer LakeLocated 25 miles north of Virginia, Pfeiffer Lake features fishing dock, boat landing, playground area, and a self-guided interpretive trail. Situated on the shore of a 55-acre lake, the Pfeiffer Lake Recreation Area many facilities make for a great rustic one-day family outing. The picnic area features a sandy beach with picnic tables and barbeque grills. Table, fire rings, drinking water and vault toilets are provided, and food gasoline, telephone and bait services are located only seven miles north at the junction of Highways 1 and 169. The lake is fantastic for fishing pan fish, bass and perch, as well as walleye, which have been stocked.Directions: From Virginia go north on Highway 53/169 for four miles. Take Highway 169 north for 16 miles to the junction of 169 and Highway 1. Go west on Highway 1 for five miles and then south on Forest Road 256 for two miles.
